运动健儿在2012 总校运动会上高奏凯歌

5/5/12 我校运动健儿与其他兄弟学校一起参加第十四届总校的运动会，董事会、校委会及家长亲友团的周到服务，热情鼓励，给运动员们增加了无穷的勇气。经过不懈努力、奋力拼搏，我们的健儿在赛场上捷报频传，成绩喜人，取得建校以来最好成绩，荣获团体总分第三名。  

 2012华夏南区辩论队载誉归来

我校辩论队在4/21/12桥水分校举办的2012华夏南区辩论赛上，取得了优异的成绩。高年级组获得了二等奖，低年级组获得了三等奖，张若冰和刁宇菲获得了最佳辩手奖。在此向他们表示祝贺！！

On January 28th, Hua Xia Chinese School hosted a successful New Year Gala. Principal Lanwei Xu, Chairman Jun Hou, and special guests Superintendent Reusche of Cherry Hill school district and Assistant Principal Heller of Beck Middle school wished everyone a happy new year and a successful academic year. Wonderful performances reflected the hard effort of the volunteers, students and teachers involved. As the finale, school staff, parents, and students gathered on stage for a chorus of 'The World is Full of Love' before the closing curtain.

 华夏南区朗诵演讲比赛圆满结束

1/14/2012 我校首次承办华夏总校南区朗诵演讲比赛。下午一点开始，南区七个分校的参赛选手，家长及评委们陆陆续续地到校。在校委会，董事会，志愿者们及总校协调员的共同努力下，比赛准备工作井井有条，比赛如期举行。赛场上，选手们各显神通，表演出色，评委们认真评判，一丝不苟。我校学生身手不凡，表现上乘，在比赛中取得里良好的成绩。

 4-7, CSL年级朗诵比赛圆满结束

12/17 我校还举办了四年级以上组的朗诵比赛。参赛的选手有：王文晶（四年一班）；张鲁洋（四年二班）；吴安忆（五年级）；刁宇菲（六年级）；刘宇欣（九年级）；缪朗婷（CSL）。经过紧张的比赛，王文晶，吴安忆分获4-6年级组第一、二名，将代表我校参加大费城地区大田豆腐朗诵比赛。

 1-3年级朗诵比赛圆满结束

12/3/2011 我校举办了1-3年级朗诵比赛。参赛的共有32名选手，按年级分两组进行比赛，特邀李健，谭璐，张蓬，刘芳，蔡晓敏，刘青，吴军民，白向力，张平，邹明芳等老师为裁判，由彭远鸿，张长春主持，全体校委会成员共同协办。经过紧张有序的比赛，最后决出各年级组的前三名，他们是：

我们新一届校委会正准备全心全意地为你服务。 我们的宗旨是：一切以学生为中心，以老师为基础，以家长为平台，把中文学校建成学生学习中国文化的园地，家长进行文化交流的场所。我们本年度的工作重点是： 安定，团结，增加学校的凝聚力。

教学方面： 目前正在积极筹备新学期注册，规划新学期的教学。基于学校的目前情况，我们决定新学期里 1）维持目前中文课和文化课的收费标准。2）原则上继续使用马立平教材，高年级的教师可适当选用其他参考教材，使我们的中文教学更具趣味性，实用性。我们将征求老师和家长们的意见，再作最后决定。3）认真听取老师的意见，不断完善和改进教学。4）认真与家长沟通， 调动家长的积极性，在老师的指导下，家长的帮助下，学生的努力下，使学生中文水平得到大幅度的提高。5）积极与总校合作，参加总校的各种文化交流活动。

财务方面：经济上坚持有计划地管理学校，要量入为出，财务透明。做好年度预算，按期向大家公布学校的财政情况。

校务方面：通过组织各种活动，使老师，家长相互沟通，相互了解，相互理解，求同存异，增加学校的凝聚力。

Dear Teachers, Parents and Students,

Our new school committee team is preparing to serve you wholeheartedly. This administration plans to develop our school into a student-centered platform with strong teacher commitment and parent involvement. Our school will become a wonderful place to learn Chinese language and culture, as well as an amiable Chinese community. Our tasks in this year emphasize: Stability, Unity and Development.

School preparation:
Currently, we are actively preparing for the fall semester registration and detail planning for the Chinese classes and teachings. Based on our school's current situation, we decided to 1) Keep the current tuition for Chinese language classes and cultural classes; 2) Continue to use Ma Liping textbook. Higher grade teachers may use combinations of textbooks and other reference books to make teaching/learning more interesting and practical; 3) Listen carefully to teachers’ suggestions, and constantly refine and improve teaching; 4) Direct communicate with parents, encourage parent involvements into school matters. We aim to improve our students’ Chinese language skills to a significant higher level under the teacher’s guidance, parents’ support and most importantly, their own efforts; 5) Actively collaborate with Huaxia headquarter and participate in variety of cross-cultural communication and activities.

Financial aspects:
We will establish a detailed annual budget and routinely announce the school's financial situation.

Administration:
We will organize a variety of interesting school activities, so as to provide opportunities to teachers, students and parents to communicate with one another and to improve inter-personal understanding. In all ways, we will come together to a common ground with maximal mutual interests and understanding.

In summary, our new school committee is very grateful to the previous committees for their contributions and hard works. We will work with the school board to serve our students, parents and community with love, passion and responsibilities. In this regard, we want to express our sincere appeal for parents’ strong support for our work. More caring, more helping and more understanding will make a better future for our students and our whole Chinese community. Our mutual interests are simply the same. Our students can learn Chinese language and culture in our school and our parents can enjoy the time in weekend afternoon. We will be proud of our students, our school and our community.

 New Principal Announcement

亲爱的教师们和家长们：

本届董事会在学校处于较为混乱的时候，听取了多方的意见与建议，本着新校长应该是一位正直，有能力，懂教学的新人的原则，与多位由教师，家长推荐的候选人进行了交谈。现在我们很高兴地向大家正式宣布，许兰薇女士当选新一届樱桃山华夏中文学校校长。

Dear Parents and Teacher,

We are pleased to announce that Ms. LanWei Xu has accepted the position of Principal at Huaxia Cherry Hill Chinese School. Ms. Xu is a current lab manager/director at Upenn. She has been engaged in teaching at Great Wall Chinese School over the past decade. She also taught one year at Huaxia Cherry Hill Chinese School when the school just set up. Ms. Xu has enthusiasm for education, caring for children. As an experienced Chinese school teacher, she looks forward to sharing those skills with Huaxia Cherry Hill Chinese School.

Ms. Xu was identified after a thorough search and interview process in which a number of very well qualified candidates were considered for appointment. She was the unanimous choice of the Board and will bring a strong focus to Chinese language educational excellence and community stability-unity in her leadership.

Ms. Xu joins Huaxia Cherry Hill Chinese School community as the Principal on June 18th, 2011. Please join us in welcoming her to our school in a spirit of enthusiasm and peace.

Election rules:

2. The legal ballot consists of the number of the members who attend the election meeting and vote. The absent members are considered abstention from voting (Bylaw 2.3).
3. The eligible vote is the ballot with 5 to 9 candidates checked. A ballot with less than 5 or more than 9 candidates checked is considered to be a invalid one (Bylaw 3.2).
4. No substitute voting, i.e., no one can vote on behalf of another person.

在12月5日的华夏总校智力运动会上，我校国际象棋队在项植权老师的带领下，努力拼搏，取得优异成绩。少年组荣获团体冠军，少年组个人第1至第4名的分别为我校选手檀星驰，李雨馨，舒东浩，张睿，队员还有Alex Liu 和刘宇欣。儿童组李舒亮获第3名，儿童组队员还有魏子安，刘博之 和Kelly Long。另外，项老师获中国象棋成人组第2名。
我校选手的成功来自于他们平时勤学棋艺，老师悉心指导，家长大力支持及我校良好的学习环境。

FOR EVERYONE, ALL FITNESS LEVELS and ABILITIES. You don't have to be a dancer to enjoy Zumba -- the most popular dance fitness program in the world! Lead by multi Zumba certified, group fitness instructor Wendi Cohen, you'll have a fun filled hour burning calories and toning muscle while moving to the popular Latin music. This is a session in which you won't feel like you're working out because you're having too much fun doing it. JOIN US and you'll be surprised at how the FUN it is to get in shape.

Currently employed fulltime by the Township of Cherry Hill.
